Welcome to NATSIHWA

On 20 March 2008 the Prime Minister and Health Minister Roxon announced funding for three years in strengthening the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce. This is part of the “Closing the Gap” strategy. Included in this package was funding for the establishment of this Association.
At a Meeting In Melbourne on 7 & 8 May, the Interim Board of the Association was formed. The Interim Board members are Kathy Abbott (Chair) (NT), Robert Dann (D/Chair) (SA), Seriako Stephen (Secretary) (Torres Strait), Christine Ingram (Vic) (Treasure), Brad Freeburn (NSW), Clarke Scott (NSW), Jenny Poelina (WA), Mavis Egan (Vic) and Patrick Ahkit (NT).
